The Hunger Games Adventures - Basic Features Tutorial

Here are some basic tips to make sure your first experience in The Hunger Games Adventures is a positive one!

  1. To move around, click on the ground where you’d like to walk
  2. To see what is going on around the game screen, or to see all the options in a zone, you can click and drag your mouse and it will show you more of the area
  3. To interact with someone in the game you may click them, it will also tell you if you have to interact with them more than once for a quest step by putting your mouse over the person/object
  4. To pick up an object that dropped from a quest you simply run your mouse cursor over the object
  5. To open a quest and see what is being asked of you, you may click the quest icon along the left side of the screen, it will break down each step in detail and show you where your next step can be completed

The “Back to World” & “Panem Map” are functions found on the bottom right of your game. The “Back to World” function works while in your Forest Escape, it allows you to return to the last zone that you were in before teleporting to your Forest Escape. The entire map of Panem (the first official map of it’s kind!) will be released in The Hunger Games Adventures soon!

You can personalize your Forest Hideout by clicking the “Store” button along the bottom of the game screen. In here, you will see decorations, building objects and special objects!

Some of the items are available based on your level. If the item is unavailable it will have a lock and tell you what level is required.

Example of locked item

You can turn, move or delete an object from your Forest Hideout by clicking the item. When you click the item you will see 3 options:

  • Rotate Item: This allows you to spin the object
  • Move Item: This allows you to drag the item around your Forest Hideout
  • Sell Item: This allows you to return the item, effectively deleting it and refunding a portion of the goods used to buy the item

To expand the territory of your Forest Escape you will need Discovery Maps. After completing a chapter in The Hunger Games Adventures you receive a Discovery Map as a reward.

“Back to World” & Panem Map

The “Back to World” & “Panem Map” are functions found on the bottom right of your game. The “Back to World” function works while in your Forest Escape, it allows you to return to the last zone that you were in before teleporting to your Forest Escape. The entire map of Panem (the first official map of it’s kind!) will be released in The Hunger Games Adventures soon!

We’re aware that some users are unable to click the “Back to World” button after they’ve completed each of the available quests and reached “end-game” (you may notice this if you’re a high level and the game is not providing you with additional quests to complete).

Maximum Level, Experience (XP) and/or End of Chapters

Once you reach the current “Level Cap” or max level/max experience (xp) in game, you may notice that your XP Bar and Level stop rising. This is functioning as intended.

The game does continue to track your XP even after you reach the max level, so don’t stop questing or normal gameplay for fear of losing your progress. Once the Level Cap is raised you will “hop” up to where you should be!

The current max level/xp as of July 22, 2012

Please note - You may reach the end of the available quests before reaching maximum level. This allows you room to gain more experience (XP) when you are “harvesting” for crafting and other activities.

When you reach the end of the available quests, you will notice that there is no quest icon along the left side of your screen. This is not an issue, this is normal game-play. You have reached the end of the most current chapter. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page and/or this site for announcements about new features and content!

Issues Affecting Game Screen/Display

This FAQ Article, as well as the subsequent Technical Support article are helpful for users who experience one or more of the following issues:

  • Full screen option
  • White/Blank game screen
  • The bottom of the game screen is “missing” or “cut off” by browser

Full Screen Option:

The Gamemakers have heard your requests for a Full Screen option. Unfortunately, it is not available at this time. Please check the Facebook page and/or this website in the future for more update news and any announcements regarding new features.

White/Blank Game Screen:

The majority of our users that report opening the game to a blank white screen have one of several things in common:

  1. Their firewall is blocking the game from loading
  2. They’re using Internet Explorer
  3.  Their browser security settings are “too high” or blocking the game from accessing Adobe Flash

The Bottom of the Game Screen is “Missing” or “Cut Off” by Browser:

We recommend attempting to access the game using a different browser. If the issue persists across browsers, check to make sure your Firewall or browser security is set to allow the game or Adobe Flash access to run.

Sometimes when zooming your browser in and out, your game screen can be cut off. If this happens please follow the instructions below.

For any Browser:
Hold the Control Key and either the mouse scroll or use the plus/minus key to adjust your screen back to 100%.

Google Chrome:
Click the wrench on the top right side of the browser.
Go to Zoom and make sure it is set to 100%.
Refresh if needed.

Firefox:
Click the View tab on the top left side of the browser.
Hover over Zoom and then click Reset.
Refresh if needed.

Internet Explorer:
Click the View tab on the top left side of the browser.
Hover over Zoom and then click 100%.
Refresh if needed.

If the problem persists, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies or try a different web browser.

If that is not successful, please visit the Technical Support FAQ for more information.
